Diane Alexandra Franklin is an American actress, fashion model and producer, possibly best known for her roles in "Better Off Dead," "The Last American Virgin" and "Amityville II: The Possession."
Not much is known about her early life and career, but it is known she got her start appearing in TV commercials for Coca-Cola, Trident, Jell-O, and Maxwell House coffee. Her long dark brown locks and All-American good looks soon par laid her into movies, landing her in the 1982 film, "The Last American Virgin," which was followed up by roles in "Amityville II: The Possession," "Deadly Lessons," "Summer Girl" and "Second Time Lucky," but her breakout role came as a French exchange student in "Better Off Dead" in 1985. She followed up the role as one of the princesses in the iconic sci-fi fantasy "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure" with Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter and George Carlin.
Franklin went on to appear on roles in several TV shows in the Eighties, such as "Bay City Blues," "Matlock," "Freddy's Nightmares," "Charles In Charge," "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" and "Murder She Wrote."
Franklin married writer and film editor Ray DeLaurentis on May 6, 1989, and had two children, Nicolas and Olivia DeLaurentis. During the 90s, she took fewer roles while raising her family, such as the film, "The Punchcard Player" and the "Adventures of Lass" shorts, as well as TV roles in "The Big Easy," "Providence" and "Family Law." Her movies have since included "Parole Officers," "The Final Interview," "Wally Got Wasted" and a return to the "Amityville" franchise by playing the mother of her character in the 2018 film, "The Amityville Murders."
