John Durbin is an American actor possibly best known for his roles in 80s and 90s television, such as Gul Lemec in a two-part episode of "Star Trek: The Next Generation."
Not much is known about Durbin's career. He was born John Jackson in Council Bluffs, Iowa around 1955 and attended acting classes through high school. His first known role was in the film "Rock 'n' Roll Hotel" which was followed by a role as a zombie in the cult horror flick "The Return of the Living Dead." He soon started getting roles in television in such 80s TV shows as "Moonlighting," "Hooperman," "Thirtysomething" and "Max Headroom." Between TV roles, he made appearances in the films "Tapeheads," "Dead Man Walking," "Demonwarp," "The Blue Iguana," "Tricks of the Trade" and "Mutant on the Bounty." In the early 90s, Durbin portrayed a Cardassian commander named Gul Lemec in the two-part "Star Trek: The Next Generation" episode "Chain of Command." The part was followed by roles in the movies "I Can Make You Love Me," "Heart and Souls" with Robert Downey Jr, "Witch Hunt" and "Truman." More TV roles occurred on "Melrose Place" and "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine." He also appeared in the television remake of "The Shining" and "Ride with the Devil" with Tobey McGuire. He also appeared in the TV shows "Providence," "The Huntress," "Star Trek: Voyager," "Angel" and "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch" with Melissa Joan Hart.
His most recent films include "American Zombie," "Redemption" and "Lake Mead."
